We are assisting a managed care organization with their search for a Nurse Manager who will function as clinical resource for the care managers. Assesses training needs, assures policies and procedures are applied consistently by all members of the care management team. Meets with the Manager to discuss staffing, resource issues, performance issues etc. as necessary. Responsible for providing direct case management and ca! re coordination services to high risk, high cost Medicaid memb! ers who are experiencing both medical and behavioral health conditions. The ICM Team Lead acts as an advocate for members to help them gain knowledge of their disease process and to identify community resources for continued growth toward a maximum level of independence. Knowledge of the treatment of mental disorders and substance abuse disorders, as well as common chronic and progressive medical conditions is required. The ICM Team Lead should have an understanding of the basic concepts of managed health care.
Minimum Qualifications:
Licensures: RN License in good standing
4 year college degree, BSN preferred
Valid unrestricted driver’s license
Relevant Work Experience: Five (5) years med/surg nursing experience is required. Prior case management experience is required. Psychiatric nursing experience is desireable. Knowledge of community resources is essential. Requires excellent communication skills, both verb! al and written, and the demonstrated ability to negotiate relationships with treatment providers, advocates, clients and other professionals. Ability to effectively intervene in complex clinical situations. Strong working knowledge of care management principles and practices, good computer skills,. Managed care experience preferred. CCM or other URAC approved certification preferred or within 3 years of hire.
