Job Description
The RN as a MET Nurse's specific duties will include:
Providing nursing care for the patient from resuscitation through placement in the MSICU or stabilization on the floor
Providing immediate debriefing and education to the nursing staff after a code/MET call
Providing critical care support to the nursing staff in all areas of the hospital, including transporting of critically ill patients
Proactively conducting rounds on nursing units to collaborate with the staff/charge nurse to identify, assess, intervene and document “at risk†patients
Facilitating interdisciplinar! y patient care to provide quality outcomes
Conducting! rounds on all previous MET call patients, and on all patients transferred from a higher level of care
Collecting and analyzing data for MET/codes reporting to the Code 99 Committee
Required Skills
5-10 years of critical care experience
Associates Degree in Nursing
BLS, and ACLS
Excellent communication skills

BSN (candidate will be required to obtain BSN within 6 years from hire date)
CCRN (candidate will be required to obtain CCRN within a year of employment)
