Looking for part time senior care for our 250 lb, 69-year-old father who is currently at the hospital recovering from pneumonia and resulting compli! cations. He is diabetic and now on dialysis as a result of his illness. We are looking for a strong, compassionate caregiver and motivator with a good sense of humor to aid in his rehabilitation and recovery. Duties would include encouraging him to accomplish daily goals set by hospital staff such as PT, sitting in chair, breathing off of the vent, hand exercises etc; gathering information from doctors and nurses and reporting progress and plans to family via text and email, being his advocate and voice with hospital staff as he cannot speak; plus companionship and support throughout all of the above.
Flexibility around dialysis a must. Dialysis schedule occasionally changes with only 24 hours advance notice. Looking for 3 - 5 days per week (weekdays) perhaps 2-3 hours per day. Mornings preferred when his energy is higher, but we can be flexible around dialysis.
Long term potential to be determined based on rehabilitation requirements and long term home ca! re needs.
