The American Red Cross Blood Services Connecticut R! egion is one of 36 American Red Cross regional blood centers whose mission is to fulfill the needs of people and provide the safest, most reliable and cost-effective blood and plasma services through voluntary donations. We are currently seeking a dedicated, driven Manager of Collections for Whole Blood Collections for the Western Connecticut based in Farmington, Ct .
As a Manager of Collections you will manage whole blood collection operations, mange the collections staff, which includes Phlebotomists, drivers, nurses, and supervisors, as well as achievement of annual blood collection goals in an efficient and cost effective manner. Responsibilities include development and supervision of 70 to 80 staff as well as maintain staffing levels to ensure the efficient and effective collection of blood products to meet annual goals; Develop or contribute to the development and implementation of annual operating budget to meet assigned collection and quality initiatives; Projec! t management; Daily, continual support of the vital mission of! the American Red Cross.
The Ideal Candidate will posses:
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing, Management, or combination of education and equivalent related experience is required
- RN or LPN licensure preferred
- Minimum five years related experience including three years management experience required.
- Blood Banking or related experience strongly preferred; Project Management Experience Strongly preferred
- Excellent communication and computer skills (MS excel, MS PowerPoint, ect) required.
