ED Tech -PD
Location: Stamford Connecticut
Description: Stamford Hospital is in need of ED Tech -PD right now, this job will be placed in Connecticut. For detail informations about this job opportunity kindly see the descriptions. The Emergency Room Tech assists in the provision of patient care in accordance with State and Federal guidelines under the director of a licensed nursing personnel, P.A. and/or physician personnel.
Required Skills
! 1) Performs EKGs.
2) Performs phlebotomy.
3) Performs vital signs and pain scale.
4) Places splints.
5) Removes and applies simple dressings.
6) Assists in applications of restraints as directed by physicians and registered nurses.
7) Transports patients to CT, OR, floors.
8) Documents appropriately in electronic medical record.
9) Provides patient education as directed by RN.
10) Participates as a member of PAMI team, Trauma team including specific responsibilities in the ED.
11) Participates as a member of the Medic Alert team throughout the hospital.
12) Stocks patient rooms, pyxis machines and supply carts as necessary.
13) Assists in procedures under the direction of MDs and RNs.
14) Completes temperature logs as requested.
15) Participates in education and training of new staff and students.
16) Participates in a supports performance ! improvement and risk management activities.
17) Assum! es role of Patient Care Attendant (as necessary) and completes required PCA log.
18) Performs all duties with a focus on patient and customer satisfaction and in keeping with the Planetree philosophy.
Required Experience
1) Minimum of high school diploma, GED or equivalent.
2) EMT- B certification OR five + years as ED technician in similar setting.
3) Experience in hospital or medical setting preferred.
