Registered Nurse requiredThe Clinical Instructors are responsible for assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating learning opportunities for nur! sing staff at the patient care areas of the Medical Center by utilizing adult education principles and age-specific data consistent with professional and regulatory mandates. Plans, organizes and implements educational experiences utilizing principles of adult education to meet the identified learning needs of the staff. Fulfill education requirements established by regulatory agencies. Serves as a consultant for staff in areas of program development, clinical practice and professional development.
Collaborates with Director, Nurse Managers, physicians and staff to assess learning needs and competencies. Practices and promotes quality improvement activities, SCIP and core measure compliance and policy/protocol development. Serves as a resource person for staff education in regards to contemporary surgical and rehabilitation nursing practices. Enhances professional development through participation in various educational and professional activities.
Collabo! rates with other resource people to develop, evaluate and/or r! evise process and outcome standards for the Surgical Service Line and Rehabilitation unit. Promotes evidenced-based research, assists with IT / clinical interfaces as applicable. 3-5 years experience in the clinical setting; previous experience in staff education preferred or teaching in an academic setting with recent clinical practice. Ability to teach and mentor nursing staff through novice to expert stage of professional development, work well within team structure, excellent communication and presentation skills, experience in clinical improvement initiatives and advocating for patients.
