MedOptions is seeking part-time nurse practitioners who have a passion for treating older adults and providing the highest quality care in nursing homes and assisted living facilities. Our positions involve traveling to the same facilities on the same day every week to provide care to the residents.
You will be part of a collaborative team that includes psychiatrists, psychologists and clinical social workers. Although you work fairly independently, you have the support of your clinical supervisor, peers and office staff.
At MedOptions, nurse practitioners play a vital role in the effective! treatment of symptoms and behaviors associated with dementia ! and psychiatric disorders. We are setting standards of care for dementia and behavioral health services in long-term care and sub acute rehab facilities.
The nursing homes and assisted living facilities that we provide behavioral health services to varyâ€"there are traditional nursing homes and assisted living facilities, facilities that have a higher acute psychiatric population, ones that care primarily for veterans and others who have a variety of residents in both age and diagnosis.
We realize that every clinician comes to MedOptions with different experiences so we have created the Geriatric Psychiatry Certificate Program. This program is a self-learning tool for meeting core competency requirements necessary for medication management. By participating in this program, we are able to customize your orientation to give you the training and support in the areas you may need it. Clinicians who successfully complete the program will receive a certificate ! and this is included in the credentialing information that we give to the facilities where we provide services.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
Advanced practice degree (CRNP, MSN-FNP, GNP, PMHNP or similar degree)
Be certified by ANCC or ANA
Have an unrestricted license as a nurse practitioner or in the process of obtaining this
Have prescriptive authority and DEA number or in the process of obtaining this
Prior psychiatric and/or geriatric experience is preferred
