Mental Health Clinician Department: Shelter Grant Schedule: Full Time Shift: Days Hours: Mon - Fri 8:30 am - 5pm Hours Per Pay Period: 40 Job Details: B! achelor`s Degree This homeless outreach position is your opportunity to make a significant and positive impact in the lives of those in the community who are homeless and need access to mental health services as well as other resources within the community. The Mental Health Clinician provides direct clinical services under the supervision of licensed and/or supervisory staff to homeless mentally ill clients as an interim to pending services. These services include evaluation, diagnosis and disposition in the emergency department, crisis center, various community settings and other environments. In addition this position provides brief individual or group counseling and psychotherapy services as well as liaison duties with the department of mental health and addiction services, department of corrections and other agencies within the area.
The Mental Health Clinician also prepares a variety of reports and documentation and attends meetings at various agencies to dev! elop and coordinate services for the homeless. An additional f! ocus is providing smoking cessation services in a group setting to individuals in the community. Bachelors Degree in Nursing, Psychology, Social Work or other related Human Services field. One year experience in a Human Services field Valid State of Connecticut Drivers License
