Reporting into the Clinical Trials Office, the Project Manger will be responsible for staff management and full life cycle of clinical trial protocols for specific disease team/s within the YCC; starting at the initial concept! ion through study completion. Department URL Address: Click here for more information Principal Responsibilities 1. Develops and oversees execution of operational goals, objectives, practice and procedures. Contributes to the development of policies
2. Supervises day-to-day activities of support staff. Responsible for staff performance management and evaluation and for workforce planning
3. Evaluates work requests to determine if they are appropriate to unit; ensures that work flow is organized and unit is staffed for quality efficient completion.
4. Assess available options and identify and implemen! t solutions to financial, administrative and technical issues;! ensure consistent application of solutions within the policies and practices of the University and the unit. .
5. Participates in long and short-range planning for work unit needs.
6. Develops, implements, and manages a training metrics system to track unit performance.
7. Develops and maintains budgets.
8. Interacts with University personnel to define work assignments and requirements and to plan and coordinate projects.
9. Interacts with external sources to manage work necessary to fulfill projects, keep abreast of new products and technologies, or arrange for subcontractors.
10. May perform other duties as assigned. Required Education and Experience Minimum requirement of Bachelor’s Degree in related field and two years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Required Skill/Ability 1: Strong analytical and writing skills combined with the ability to communicate effectively and diplomatically in written an! d verbal forms with internal and external contacts (NIH, FDA, industry) faculty, researchers and staff at all levels. Required Skill/Ability 2: Demonstrated skills coordinating clinical trials. Required Skill/Ability 3: Demonstrated knowledge of oncology language and federal regulations involving human subjects. Proven ability to work successfully within a team environment and as an individual contributor. Must be flexible to adjust work schedule to allow for team priorities to be met. Required Skill/Ability 4: Proven ability to manage several projects concurrently, while balancing competing priorities and deadlines. Extreme flexibility in work focus. Proven ability to switch among several different projects without any adverse effects. Required Skill/Ability 5: Strong interpersonal skills as well as supervisory capacity. Preferred Education, Experience and Skills: Proven experience supervising staff. BA/BS Degree in medical, biological or social sciences; three years of pr! ofessionally related experience in clinical trials management; previous! clinical research experience, grant writing and/or administrative experience; familiarity with clinical IT systems such as COEUS, IDX, SDK, Logician, MD Link, Synapse and Sunrise Manager. Physical Requirements: Proven ability to lift 30 lbs, sit for long periods of time and travel on foot to locations within the medical school campus within roughly a mile radius of the office.
