the inpatient management team as the Pediatric Nurse Practitioner or Physician
Assistant Hospit! alist at this leading childrenÂ's hospital. The Pediatric Nurse
Practitioner or Physician Assistant in this role will use their skills and
experience in pediatric nursing to provide acute care to hospitalized pediatric
patients, including premature neonates, infants, children, and adolescents. In addition to providing coverage for the
NICU, the PNP or PA in this role will occasionally be called upon for pediatric
consults in the emergency department.
From admission to discharge, the PNP or PA Hospitalist will work to
ensure the success of each patientÂ's treatment plan, noting progress and
recommending therapeutic interventions when necessary, providing patient/family
education and completing the discharge process.
This
full-time position is located a short drive from the main hospital in an 85 bed
inpatient service facility. The hospital

Qualifications:
Formal training in
pediatrics, required; two years of pediatric work experience or
completion of certified Pediatric PA or PNP residency in pediatric and neonatal
medicine, preferred; current State of Connecticut PNP, PA or APRN licensure,
required; Physician Assistants must obtain and maintain certification before
being considered for hire, required; ! APRNs must obtain and maintain
certification upon hire, required; pediatric advanced
life support (PALS) and NALS certifications must be completed within 3 months
of hire, required. Position is also
open to Nurse Practitioners or Physician Assistants who are certified in Family
Medicine.
