The University of Connecticut, School of Nursing is seeking applications to fill a full-time 11-month tenure eligible Associate/Full Professor or non-tenure track Clinical Associate/Full Professor position. Under the direction of the Associate Dean of Academic Affairs, the faculty member will serve as the Director for pre-lice! nsure programs. The Director will be responsible to direct, or! ganize, lead and assure continuous quality improvement of key functional areas and missions related to the School’s academic affairs for pre-licensure programs. The Director provides leadership in the oversight of the School’s academic pre-licensure programs, assures collaborations across sectors of the School and University, and ensures involvement of community partners and constituents to facilitate achievement of the School’s academic objectives and continuous program improvement.
The Director will participate in teaching within the pre-licensure program, coordinate course scheduling and teaching assignments, will oversee operations at the undergraduate and certificate program levels, and will direct preparation of data for reports for state licensure and national accreditation.To be considered for the tenure eligible Associate/Full Professor position: Minimum Qualifications: Must be a Registered Nurse; possess a PhD or comparable research degree in nursin! g or related field; have experience teaching in an institute of higher education, with documented positive student evaluations; have administrative experience which may include hiring, evaluating and supervising staff and professional colleagues, including full and part time faculty; show evidence of scholarship commensurate with appointment at the Associate or Full Professor level, including substantial record of published scholarship, grant funding, and leadership involvement in the national and international arena.Preferred Qualifications: Must have administrative experience, particularly with budgets and fiscal management; have experience with accreditation and regulatory body regulations and processes; be familiar with clinical placements including contracts, preceptors, time demands and match of student to unit; have experience with regulatory testimony and report creation.To be considered for Associate/Full Clinical Professor position: Minimum Qualifications: Must be! a Registered Nurse; possess a Doctoral degree in Nursing or related fi! eld; have experience teaching in an institute of higher education, with documented positive student evaluations; have administrative experience which may include hiring, evaluating and supervising staff and professional colleagues, including full and part time faculty; show evidence of scholarship.Preferred Qualifications: Must have administrative experience, particularly with budgets and fiscal management; have experience with accreditation and regulatory body regulations and processes; be familiar with clinical placements including contracts, preceptors, time demands and match of student to unit; have experience with regulatory testimony and report creation.Appointment in the non-tenure track clinical position is subject to annual renewal based on program needs, funding and performance. Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience.
