Full-Time Nurse Practitioner (NP/APRN) wanted for an outpatient Adult Preventive Medicine position in New Britain, Connecticut. Hours for the position are 9am-5pm (40 hours/week), no weekends and no call required. This position is available immediately and newer graduates may apply.
The Nurse Practitioner will provide primary preventive care to a high risk, adult patient population in an effort to protect, promote, and maintain health and well-being. The NP / APRN will see patients in an outpatient setting for the purposes of managing medications, smoking cessation programs, and diet/exercise in addition to other preventive programs aimed at improving wellness and quality of life. Though the majority of patients will be seen in an office setting, certain patients (e.g. discharged EM patients) will have counsel provided to them by the NP / APRN over the phone. The NP / APRN will contact these patients to ensure proper follow up care is scheduled with PC or Specialty providers.
